David Novotny is the President of Cape Fear Construction Group, Cape Fear Commercial’s construction affiliate. With two decades of multifamily experience, David has coordinated the development of numerous multifamily projects from the entitlement process through completion. He possesses expansive knowledge of all facets of horizontal and vertical construction, including budgeting, scheduling, contracting, and negotiations. He also wields extensive experience in construction operations, passed the General Contractor licensing exam in North Carolina, and serves as the qualifier for Cape Fear Construction Group.
Prior to his present role, David served as a project manager and vice president for a Charlotte, North Carolina-based real estate developer who developed, constructed, and managed multifamily projects in the Southeast. Notable projects included two mixed-use developments in the Mayfaire community — The Reserve and The Village. These successful projects illustrated a new precedent for quality, mixed-use development in the Wilmington area at the time of their completion.
As the principal of his own company, David successfully completed a LEED-certified infill development in Philadelphia and multifamily structural rehabilitations in Atlantic City, New Jersey.
David earned a bachelor’s degree in accounting from the University of Kentucky. He is a native of Philadelphia and resides in Wilmington with his wife, Kerry, and two children, Benjamin and William.
